Health tip for school Kids

Elementary school is a time when children have newfound independence, including making food choices. It may seem like your 7 to 10 year old is always hungry and looking for a snack. Help your child out by making healthy snacks like fresh veggies, fruits, and popcorn easy to grab.

Children at this age should try to eat foods from the following groups:
2-3 servings of dairy like low-fat milk, cheese, or yogurt
2-4 servings of fruits including at least 1 citrus fruit
3-5 servings of veggies including at least 2 high is vitamin A, like carrots
2-3 servings of protein including meat, poultry, fish, or legumes, and
6-11 servings of grains like cereal, whole grain bread, pasta, or crackers
